The Road Home

The Palisades and Altadena are coming back. So is your home.

Every week, more permits are approved and more foundations are poured across the burn areas. The rebuild is real, it's moving faster than anyone expected, and families who plan well are already watching their homes rise.

The clearest way forward is with a builder who walks this path every day. We align your construction budget with your claim and move your project through LA's expedited rebuild permitting, so your family can focus on what comes next while your home takes shape.

We're not waiting for that momentum, we're part of it. Our current Palisades rebuild is proof the path forward works.

Getting it Right Early

The smoothest rebuilds get three things right from the start.

Get these right early and the rest of the project follows. This is where we do our best work, before the first day on site.

01

A budget that matches your claim

We build your scope and budget around your actual claim position from day one, so the numbers are honest before design decisions get expensive and every dollar of coverage works for you.

02

The fastest permit path for your parcel

The city and county created expedited paths for fire rebuilds, each with its own rules. We map your fastest route, prepare the submittals, and manage the process so approvals keep moving.

03

A builder you can verify

We are a local, owner-led firm with 25+ years in business, an office on Palisades Drive, and a license number you can check in minutes. You'll know exactly who is building your home.

Your Rebuild, Your Call

Rebuild what you had, or build what you always wanted.

There are two ways back home, and the right one depends on your insurance position, your timeline, and what you want the next chapter to look like. We'll walk you through both in plain terms.

The Like-for-Like Rebuild

The fastest way home. Rebuilding to your home's original footprint qualifies for LA's expedited review, with room to go up to 10% larger under the rebuild rules.

Fastest permitting path available

Simplest fit with your insurance claim

The Reimagined Home

Some families see the rebuild as the chance to finally build the home they always pictured. Ground-up custom design is what we've done across Los Angeles for 25+ years.

Either way, your new home will be built to resist the next fire. Every rebuild meets California's current fire-hardening standards (Chapter 7A), including ignition-resistant exterior materials, ember-resistant venting, and tempered glazing. We'll explain what each requirement means for your design and your budget.

Our Signature Approach

From claim to keys, one clear path.

Rebuilding after a fire isn't a standard construction project, and it shouldn't be treated like one. Here's how we guide you through it.

Stage 01

Fit

We start with your insurance claim, not a blank page. We review your coverage, your policy limits, and whether a like-for-like rebuild or a larger reimagined home makes the most sense for your situation.

Stage 02

Plan

We map your fastest path through LA's expedited fire-rebuild permitting, and build your design around California's Chapter 7A fire-hardening requirements from day one, so nothing gets redesigned later at your expense.

Stage 03

Build

Owner-led construction with our signature Friday photo updates, so you always know exactly where your home stands, even from out of town.

Stage 04

Care

A meticulous final walkthrough, plus long-term support as your family settles back into a neighborhood that's still rebuilding around you.

Built with integrity.
Led with heart.

We started Heart Construction long before it had a name, just two friends walking job sites, talking about the kind of builders we wished existed. Builders who listened. Who cared about the details as much as the people living with them.

Our office sits on Palisades Drive. These are our neighborhoods, our clients are our neighbors, and rebuilding them is personal. When you work with Heart, you work directly with us, on every decision, at every stage.

"Building from the ground up changed everything. The layout feels clear, the main living areas connect without feeling forced, and the flow between inside and outside is something used every day. At the same time, the private spaces feel separate and quiet, which makes a real difference in how the home functions. It feels simple, but in a way that’s hard to achieve."

"We live near Coldwater Canyon, and the hillside conditions required engineering coordination and careful permitting. They explained every phase clearly, aligned budget before submission, and executed exactly as outlined. That level of clarity made a complex project manageable."

“Anyone who has built a home knows construction is never perfect. Things come up, plans change, and there were definitely some stressful moments along the way. What mattered to us was how Asaf and Jason handled those moments. They took responsibility, stayed involved, and made sure things were corrected instead of making excuses. Even after the major work was done, they kept coming back to take care of the little things until we were happy. That meant a lot to us. We love our home and, looking back, we know we chose the right team.”

Common Questions

The clarity you need before breaking ground.

Rebuilding after a fire raises questions most homeowners have never had to ask. Here are the ones we hear most, answered plainly.

Can we rebuild exactly the home we had?

In most cases, yes, and it's the fastest path. Like-for-like rebuilds qualify for LA's expedited review, and the rules allow you to go up to 10% larger than your original footprint. We'll confirm what applies to your specific parcel during your consultation.

Do you work with our insurance company?

Yes. We work with homeowners across every major carrier and have guided clients through claims with State Farm, Farmers, Mercury, and the California FAIR Plan, among others. We don't work for your insurer, we work for you, aligning your scope and budget with your actual claim position so your coverage stretches as far as possible. If you're still mid-claim, we can walk through it with you at no cost before you commit to anything.

How long will our rebuild take?

Timelines depend on your parcel, your permit path, and your scope, but most like-for-like rebuilds using LA's expedited review are moving from permit to groundbreaking faster than a typical custom build. We'll give you a realistic, parcel-specific timeline in your first consultation, not a generic estimate, so you can plan your family's next chapter with real numbers instead of guesswork.

What's different about building after a fire?

Fire rebuilds move through different permitting rules, different code requirements, and a claims process layered on top of construction. Every rebuild must meet California's current fire-hardening standards (Chapter 7A), your budget has to be reconciled against your insurance settlement, and your city or county has established an expedited path built specifically for rebuilds like yours. It's a different process than a standard remodel or new build, and it takes a builder who works inside that process daily.

When should we contact Heart Construction?

As early as possible, even before your claim is finalized. The earlier we're involved, the earlier we can align your budget with your coverage and get your permit submittals moving, which is where rebuilds gain or lose the most time. There's no downside to an early conversation: it's free, there's no obligation, and it gives you clarity while your options are still open.

Do you coordinate with architects and designers?

Yes. We regularly work alongside homeowners' own architects and designers, and we can also bring in trusted design partners if you're starting from scratch. Either way, we manage the coordination between design, permitting, and construction so your vision and your fire-rebuild timeline move forward together instead of working against each other.

Let's talk about bringing you home.

No obligation, no pressure. Just a real conversation about the path back to your neighborhood.
